Deputy Inspector General of the Police (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf on Tuesday said that the police department is on high alert in the provincial metropolis, especially at every entry and exit point after receiving terror threats.
He said this while reviewing the action taken against criminals of Model Town area by the police concerned during the month of December, 2016 here at the Police Lines (Qilla Gujjar Singh). On this occasion, acting SP Model Town Kashif Abbas, SHOs, Circle officers, beat and other senior officers were present.
The DIG directed its personnel to submit reports directly in his office regarding security arrangements taken to ensure security for 'Chinese peoples' as well as for schools. He said that no negligence will be tolerated as the police stations have 'proper resources' to curb crime. All the police officials should perform their duties to the best of their abilities otherwise they would face stern course of action.
Haider issued show cause notice to the SHO Ichra Bilal Hanif over poor performance. He also sought written answer from DSP Ichra Circle.
