More rain, snowfall likely in most parts

The Met Office on Tuesday forecasts more rain and snowfall for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. The fresh downpour showered parts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the last 24 hours.
In Balochistan: Quetta received 42 mm of rainfall in Sheikh Manda and 31 in Samungli), 18 in Kalat, eight in Jiwani and seven in Zhob and Nokkundi, each. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 37 mm in Dir, 21 in Pattan, 20 in Kalam and Parachinar, each, 17 in Chitral, 16 in Mirkhani, 14 in Lower Dir, 12 in Drosh and , Malamjabba each, 11 in Saidu Sharif, five in Balakot, Peshawar (Airport four, and City two) In the last 24 hours.
It said that rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills was expected at a number of places in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , FATA, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, besides at scattered places in Sindh.
Similarly, isolated heavy falls are likely in Makran, Kalat and Quetta Divisions over the period. "A strong westerly wave is prevailing over the country. This weather system (westerly wave) is expected to produce more rains/snowfall in the country till Thursday," the Met said.
It said that partly cloudy to fully cloudy weather with cold night and misty/foggy morning was likely to prevail in the most parts of Upper Sindh. Partly cloudy to a complete cloudy weather with cool/cold night and hazy/misty morning was expected to prevail on the Lower Sindh. However thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds may occur at isolated places in Larkana Division and Dadu District.
Weather Outlook for next 48 hrs: Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at number of places in Balochistan, KP, FATA, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at scattered places in Sindh. Isolated heavy fall is also expected in Makran, Kalat, Quetta, Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir.
Tuesday's Lowest Minimum Temperatures: Parachinar, Skardu -07°C, Malamjabba, Kalat -06°C, Gupis -04°C.
