Army chief General Bajwa has rightly reiterated Pakistan's position in relation to its bilateral relationship with Saudi Arabia. According to him, army holds defence of KSA at par with its own. General Bajwa made these remarks at a meeting with Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Abdullah Marouk al-Zahrani who called on General Bajwa at GHQ.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the meeting General Qamar Bajwa reassured the Saudi ambassador that the Pakistan Army held the defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at par with its own.
That General Bajwa had said nothing new insofar as Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship is concerned. In the initial days of the Saudi-Yemen conflict, the government or country's Foreign Office had articulated a similar policy guideline. One must not lose sight of the fact that it was only Saudi Arabia that provided the PML-N government with a 'gift' to improve country its balance of payment position.
