'PTI government launches Rs seven billion health insurance scheme'
For first time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government for provision of free modern health facilities has launched health insurance scheme worth Rs 7 billion for poor deserving patients. This was stated by Advisor to KP CM on Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani while addressing the card distribution ceremony in Union Council, Malikpura of Abbottabad on Saturday.
The health insurance scheme initiated under the name of Insaf Health Card would be later extended to all people of the province. In the current phase, he said 51 percent population of the province was taking benefit of the scheme. Under the scheme, any member of the cardholding family will get free medical treatment of any disease from the selected panel of public and private sector hospitals. He said earlier, poor and destitute were having no access to modern and costly treatment, but that scheme had provided the right of such treatment to poor and white colour people also.
