Global coffee exports rose 13.6 percent in November from a year earlier to total 9.94 million 60-kg bags, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) said on Friday. For the first two months of the 2016/17 season, which began on October 1 last year, coffee exports were up 8.5 percent at 19.52 million bags. Robusta coffee exports were 24.9 percent higher in November from a year earlier at 3.68 million bags. Cumulative robusta exports for the season to date rose 10.8 percent to 7.05 million bags.
Arabica coffee exports in November were 7.9 percent higher than in the same month last year, at 6.25 million bags. Cumulative arabica exports for the season to date rose 7.3 percent to 12.48 million bags.
