Student murder suspect remanded into police custody for 6 days
District and sessions judge handed over the main suspect in the case involving the mysterious death of a female student in Sindh University to the police for six-day physical remand. According to a private television channel report, the prime suspect in the case named Anees Khaskheli was produced before the court. In the hearing, police pleaded the judge to give 15-day physical remand of the suspect. However, the court handed him over to the law enforcement agencies for six days.
It should be noted that the female student named Naila's body was found from the hostel of Sindh University. Police had arrested Khaskheli and found Naila's pictures and videos from his mobile phone. The police stated that he had told the girl that he would marry her but later refused.
DIG Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind told media on Friday that the suspect Anees Khaskheli used to blackmail the female student who committed suicide in the varsity's Marvi hostel on January 2. The police officer maintained that a murder case will be registered against Khaskheli for this crime falls in the category of Qatl Shibh-i-Amd as the victim was mentally exploited to the extent that she took her life. Law enforcers maintained that the arrest was made after Naila Rind's cell phone record stated that she talked to Khaskheli for about 24 minutes before hanging herself in the hostel room.
