The National Highway Authority (NHA) would soon set up Emergency Response Centres (ERCs) along the national highways in Pakistan. An official of NHA told Agency on Saturday that initially those centres would be set up on three highways of Balochistan. The ERCs would be set up at Dhana Sar and Meena Bazar along Kuchlak-Dera Ismail Khan Highway (N-50), Kalat, Surab, Wadh and Kararo along Karachi-Chaman Highway (N-25) and Nag and Hoshab along Hoshab-Surab Highway (N-85).
He said those centres would operate 24 hours throughout the week and would be manned by trained paramedical staff and equipped with necessary first aid facilities besides ambulances and cranes for rescue and relief operations.
