US Midwest corn bids mixed

Corn spot basis bids were steady to narrowly mixed in the US Midwest on Wednesday while soyabean bids were mostly unchanged amid light farmer sales of each crop, grain merchants said. Corn bids weakened at a mill in Blair, Nebraska, and in the cattle-feeding region of Hereford, Texas. Corn bids firmed in Fort Worth, Texas, and at an elevator in Council Bluffs. Supplies remained ample in the wake of the record-large US harvest but a slow pace of farmer sales have underpinned bids I some regions.
Bids for soft red winter wheat jumped by 10 cents per bushel at a flour mill in Chicago, offsetting a decline by nearly that amount in wheat futures, which settled 8 cents lower at $4.01-1/2 per bushel.
