On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,028. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 2.08 billion and the number of lots traded was 5,926. Major business was contributed by currencies through COTS amounting to PKR 783.32 million, it was followed by gold PKR 623.37 million, WTI crude oil PKR 564.38 million, silver PKR 115.09 million and copper PKR 2.87 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, five lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.84 million were also traded.
