The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab workers left for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on Monday evening to attend 9th martyrdom anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Besides a good number of leading party workers, PPP Labour Bureau and PPP Minority Wing members also joined the caravan. Female party workers were also part of the entourage.
PPP stalwart Sohail Malik led the caravan at the railway station where the party workers were carrying banners and placards to pay homage to their leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. They also raised slogans in favour of Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sohail Malik said the PPP workers were departing for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh where a camp has already been set up for party workers. A good number of party workers were also leaving by road, he added when pointed out that the number of party workers around him was not impressive. He said the PPP workers would not hesitate in coming out on streets in case the government failed to fulfil four demands of Bilawal Bhutto.
It may be noted that PPP Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira had held a detailed meeting with zonal representatives to finalise arrangements about a week ago. The party workers had urged him to prefer railway over road transportation to reach Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. They were of the view that it was quite difficult to reach Garhi Khuda Bakhsh by road.
