NA body discusses Pakistan Private Courier Regulatory Authority Bill
The meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Communications held here on Monday in the Committee Room, Parliament House, Islamabad, to consider the Pakistan Private Courier Regulatory Authority Bill, 2015 (moved by Belum Hasnain, MNA) and case of suicide of an official of National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on 30th August, 2016. The meeting was presided over by Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, MNA.
The Pakistan Private Courier Regulatory Authority Bill, 2015 was considered in detail. The committee directed to invite all the stakeholders, including leading courier companies to inform the committee regarding their concerns. The committee recommended that the comprehensive Bill be drafted which should be acceptable to all the stakeholders.
The issue of suicide of an official of NH&MP was also discussed in detail. The Inspector General NH&MP informed the committee that the incident of suicide might be the result of immense stress due to the repatriation from the NH&MP to his parent department or due to the domestic issues. However, the inquiry is underway to probe the real cause of the suicide. MNAs Sarzameen, Chaudhry Khalid Javaid Warraich, Dr Darshan, Ramesh Lal, Engr Hamid-ul-Haq Khalil, Sanjay Parwani, Molana Qamar ud Din, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Naseema Hafeez Panezai, Engr.
