PML-N to win general elections on basis of performance: speakers
Speakers at a seminar paid tributes to Khawaja Mohammad Rafique Shaheed for his services for the cause of democracy and expressed the resolve to play their role for strengthening democracy in the country. The seminar titled "Pakistan on path of democracy" was arranged by Khawaja Rafique Shaheed Foundation in connection with his 44th anniversary here at Alhamra Hall on Monday.
Federal Ministers Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz, senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Jamaat leader Liaquat Balouch and others spoke on the occasion. Speakers were of the unanimous view that the country could only march on the road to progress and prosperity in a democratic rule and service to people must be moto of every democratic government.
Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Mohammad Asif in his speech said the democracy is flourishing in the country and coming generations would see true democratic order where everybody would feel benefit of it. He said Pakistan would enter new phase of development on completion of CEPC and Gwadar would be a gate to this development. He said a plant of 300 MW is being established at Gwadar while about 3000-4000 MW would be added to system in 2017. He added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is going to inaugurate Chashma Power Plant of 140 MW on Wednesday. "We would overcome power load shedding in 2018." Advising the PML-N activists to start preparations of 2018 general elections, Asif expressed optimism that Nawaz Sharif would be re-elected as Prime Minister on the basis of his performance.
He said a lot of development work is being carried out across the country and people would see a visible change. Asif said their opponents (PTI) had to face its logical end due to politics of lies. He said the PTI leaders are leading their workers towards a close street. He said service to masses is hall mark of the politics of PML-N. Senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said Imran Khan has practised immature politics which caused harm to his party. He said: "Democracy is name of selfless service to the masses." PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz said the PML-N is serving the masses wholeheartedly and would contest next elections on the basis of its performance.
