Xinjiang region eyes joint ventures in Pakistan

Leader of 16-member delegation from Xinjiang region, China Zhang Shaoyun, who is deputy director general of the Department of Commerce, Government of Xinjiang, has expressed his keen interest in joint ventures and business to business contacts with Pakistan.
Speaking at a meeting of the SITE Association of Industry (SAI), Zhang Shaoyun expressed hope that such meetings would help in understanding and promoting bilateral commercial and economic ties. He thanked the SITE Association for its hospitality and warm welcome.
President of SAI, Asad Nisar Barkhurdaria, also expressed optimism that greater opportunities could be explored for collaboration in the textile sector by both sides through such visits.
Former president of the KCCI, M Zubair Motiwala, highlighted the strength of Pakistan textile sector and invited the Chinese delegates to invest and benefit from its growth potentials. He also elaborated the production and exports statistics of Pakistan vis-à-vis its global competitors and the large gap in value addition, offering great opportunities to the Chinese investors.
He also cited the recently-announced incentives by the Pakistan Government in tax and tariff for foreign investments and continuously improving security situation across the country. Chinese delegates expressed their excitement and interest in joint ventures and co-production projects which will certainly help boost the national economy. Consular attaché, economic and commercial office, Miranda Lee also attended the meeting.
