Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked the departments concerned for preparation of plans for new dams and include it in the next ADP to attract foreign investors adding that future of the province depends on such projects which will bring progress and prosperity in the area and change destiny of the entire region. He was presiding over a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister's House today.
Among officials attending the meeting was Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, the son of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and holds the portfolio of Senior Minister for Irrigation. The Chief Minister asked for finalising of the plans for the dams. He said that such projects could help in getting self sufficiency in the agriculture and overcoming energy shortage in the province. He announced that power generated through small dams would be provided at reasonable rates to local parties, which would help improve the local economy.
