Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Saturday nominated focal persons to keep the bereaved families updated about the identification process of remaining dead bodies. While visiting Saddha Batolni village in the vicinity of Havelian, where ATR 42 aircraft (AP-BHO) had crashed on December 07, Chief Executive Officer PIA, Bernd Hildenbrand said PIA was taking all possible steps to facilitate the bereaved families.
He said that PIA had now nominated focal persons to keep those families updated about the identification process of their loved ones and added that they would also ensure that remaining dead bodies were also handed over immediately after the identification process was completed.
He laid a wreath of flowers at the site and observed one-minute silence in remembrance of the martyrs and also expressed his gratitude to the local people for their prompt rescue efforts after the crash. Later, PIA CEO accompanied Director Vigilance of PIA, Brigadier Mohammad Asif (Retd) examined the area. Hildenbrand also visited the embassy of Austria in addition to citizen who lost his life in the incident and extended his heartfelt condolences.
