"Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) with the collaboration of Jinan University China will promote Chinese language and other vocational training courses in its institutes. Promotion of Chinese language in Punjab will lead towards formation of an effective economic block in the region through a long-term partnership of Pakistan with China." Chairperson Tevta Irfan Qaiser Sheikh was talking with five members' delegation of Jinan University China headed by Zhang Shoufeng.
Chairperson Tevta Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said there was a vast room for Pakistani workforce in Chinese companies across the world which could be met by equipping the local workforce with the skills required by Chinese Companies along with the Chinese language know-how and China in various fields of trade and Industry. Tevta will train 15,000 students in Chinese Language course during one year.
While keeping in view this objective, Tevta is spreading these classes in 18 cities of the province. After successful functioning, classes of Chinese language course will also be organised to start in other major cities of the province in next phase because youth of other cities are also approaching Tevta in this regard. Head of Delegation Zhang Xiuhong said that current Chinese language programmes being run here would help the youngsters to take a leap into the future prospects.
He also said Chinese business leaders were taking the similar measures in China to acquaint the Chinese people with Urdu language. He pointed that technological upgradation of vocational institutes in Punjab with Chinese assistance would prove to be a milestone in empowering Pakistani Labour force.
