The Board of Governors of Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex and Hospital, which met here on Thursday, accorded approval of annual budget 2016-17 of Rs 4654.578 million. The Board has also approved in principle the proposal for revamping of Sheikh Zayed Hospital at a cost of Rs 200 million. However, details would be finalized in consultation with the Punjab Specialized Healthcare Department and Sheikh Zayed Hospital.
Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique chaired the 45th meeting of Board of Governors of Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex and Hospital. Besides Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Law Department Abul Hassan Najmi, Ghazali Saleem Butt MPA, Vice Chancellor UHS Major General Dr Muhammad Aslam (Retd), Chairman Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex Professor Fareed Ahmed Khan, Professor Anwar A Khan, Professor Nusrat Chaudhary, M M Khan, President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry Abdul Basit, Health Consultant Dr Naeem Uddin Mian and representative of Finance department attended the meeting.
The issues regarding recruitment on vacant posts, promotion of senior doctors, construction of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Medical & Dental College Complex, preparation of its PC-I and other administrative and financial matters came under discussion. The meeting also gave approval for creation of hundred seats for trainee doctors. The board also constituted a high level sub-committee headed by Professor Anwar A Khan, to deal with important matters and prepare recommendations for the development projects. The committee will work on fast track and furnish its recommendations in the next meeting of the Board.
