Hard red winter (HRW) wheat cash basis bids in the southern US Plains were steady on Tuesday amid light farmer sales and uneven demand from domestic millers, said merchants. Premiums for wheat shipped to and through Kansas City on Monday were down 3 cents per bushel for grain with 11.4 to 11.6 percent protein and 5 cent lower for 12.2 percent protein.
However, 12.6 to 12.8 percent protein wheat rose 5 cents and climbed 10 cents for 13.0 to 14.0 percent. Meanwhile, farmers tracked generally weaker Chicago Board of Trade K.C. wheat that were pressured by profit-taking and plentiful supplies.
