The National Assembly Standing Committee for Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (HSRC) on Tuesday directed the ministry officials to draft a comprehensive bill on transplantation of human organs and tissues, as this is a sensitive legislation.
The meeting of the committee was held in the Committee Room of the Ministry for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination in the chair of MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi.
The committee members considered "The Transplantation of human organs and tissues (Amendment) Bill, 2016" in detail and directed the ministry officials to draft a comprehensive bill on the issue.
The committee considered "The HIV/AIDS (Safety and Control) Bill, 2013" in detail. The committee recommended to launch media campaign for awareness of the public to control the menace of HIV/AIDS in the country. Moreover, the civil society should also be activated to create awareness among the masses. The committee members decided to take all the provinces on board while framing the laws pertaining to the subjects related to provinces.
The committee also discussed the admission policy of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) in MBBS/BDS for private colleges. The committee directed that the admission policy for the private medical colleges be framed according to the rules and regulations of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council while keeping in view the interest of students.
