On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,043. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 4.70 billion and the number of lots traded was 13,558. Major business was contributed by crude oil PKR 1.91 billion, followed by gold PKR 1.61 billion currencies through COTS PKR 990.05 million, silver PKR 169.98 million, copper PKR 16.45 million and cotton PKR 4.47 million. In addition to his, in agricultural commodities 38,440 lots of Paddy Super Basmati Rice amounting to PKR 1.60 million were also traded.
