Muhammad Saeed Sheikh President FCCI (Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry) has welcomed first direct Chinese rail and sea freight service between Kunming and Karachi and said that it will further strengthen Pakistan-china bilateral relations in addition to gearing up work on multibillion mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
In a statement issue here today, he said that this rail and sea freight service has linked china's south western province Yunnan with Pakistan largest seaport Karachi. He said that this link will help china to have direct links with the international markets through Pakistan. He further said that our 500 tons of commodities from Kunming capital of Yunnan province has marked the opening of this new route between Pakistan and china who are trying to translate their friendly diplomatic relations into real economic terms. He further said that Pakistan needs political stability for the early completion of CPEC road project linkage eastern china with Gwadar deep sea port through an amazingly short root via Pakistan.
He said that the CPEC related projects are also under completion for electricity generation and surplus electricity will be injected into the national grid at comparatively cheaper rates. He said that government has also planned 10 industrial cities along the CPEC route which will generate economic activity in addition to providing jobs to the unemployed youth.
Engineer Muhammad Saeed Sheikh said that government should accomplish this project which will also provide a reliable road link to the land locker central Asian States with the rest of the world through Gwadar sea port. He said that government of Pakistan should carve out a policy for the revival of sick units as they could be revived immediately with the help of Chinese investment under CPEC.
He said that M-4 motorway connecting Faisalabad with Multan will provide short cut to the Chinese cargo destined for the Gwadar Port. He said that alternative routes as compared to Faisalabad are lengthier in addition to consuming more time. Hence the remaining portion of Faisalabad Multan section from Gojra to Khanewal may be completed on fast track basis so that the maximum Chinese cargo could use this route for safe, speedy and reliable transportation of its exports and imports.
