Majid further said that it is very unfortunate that exports have declined by US 4 billion dollars, in the last three years, which is perturbing for the exporters adding that no positive step has so far been taken by the government for protecting the exports from down trend. The role of export sector is vital in enhancing foreign reserves but it was totally ignored by the concerned quarters in the country he said. The SCCI President was of the view that our existing trade polices are not business friendly as compared to other countries adding that despite of GSP Plus Status our exports are decreasing. Unfriendly business polices, non clearance of duty drawback claims, utilisation of Export Development Fund for other purpose, lack of one window system for payment taxes and lack of skilled labour were the key factors in fall of export he pointed out.
