Special persons: various welfare policies launched for rehabilitation: DCO
A colourful ceremony was held to mark the World Day for persons with disabilities under the joint arrangements of District Special Education Department and Faisalabad Arts Council at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium. DCO Salman Ghani was the chief guest on this occasion while EDO CD Khalid Bashir, DO Special Education Chaudhry Abdul Hameed, RD Arts Council Tariq Javed, Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Chaudhry Zia, Dr Bilal Ahmad, Sarjeel Ahmad, Principal and teachers of Special Education Institutions, parents and a large number of special children were present in the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, DCO Salman Ghani appreciated the performance of the special children in different skits, tableau, national songs and other variety programmes and said that the qualities of special children could be polished by imparting training and education for which special education department was rendering valuable services. He said that district administration was following various welfare policies for the rehabilitation and betterment of special persons. He said that it was joint responsibilities of the society to associate the special persons in the journey of life and development for taking away the deprivation of the special persons. He said that we should renew our pledge for bringing the special persons into the main stream of the development through their welfare while observing the World Day for Disable Persons.
Presenting welcome address, DO Special Education Chaudhry Abdul Hameed gave the details of taken for the rehabilitation and welfare of the special children on govt. level and said that as many as 31 institutions of Special Education were working in the district including 15 govt. institutions. He thanked DCO Salman Ghani for participating in the ceremony as chief guest and said that he was taking keep interest for the development and rehabilitation of the special persons. During the ceremony; mentally retard, physically handicapped, hearing impaired, and blind students presented colourful program and received great applause. The shields were also distributed among the teachers and other persons rendering valuable services for the education and betterment of special children.
