Lawmaker robbed in broad daylight

Inamullah Khan Niazi, a treasury benches lawmaker in the Punjab Assembly, was robbed by unidentified gunmen on Thursday at a traffic signal on The Mall in broad daylight. As per details, the lawmaker, Inamullah Khan Niazi, was held hostage by armed robbers on The Mall when he stopped his car at a traffic signal near Club Chowk near the Chief Minister Secretariat. The robbers looted Rs 15,000 in hard cash and two cell-phones.
"I was travelling on The Mall, when I stopped my car near Club Chowk, an armed robber made me hostage at gunpoint after opening the door of my car and snatched my two mobile phones besides Rs 15, 000 cash," stated the FIR, a copy of which is available with the Business Recorder, lodged with the Race Course Police Station. It may be added that this incident has happened after the tall claims of Lahore police that they have recently busted a gang of four criminals including a woman involved in robberies occurred in the city.
