On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,001. The total traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 7.66 billion and the number of lots traded was 21,270. Major business was contributed by currencies through COTS PKR 3.43 billion, followed by gold amounting PKR 3.13 billion, crude oil PKR 722.96 million, silver PKR 363.85 million, copper PKR 10.04 million and cotton PKR 3.73 million. In addition to this, in agricultural commodities, 35,325 lots of red chilli amounting to PKR 6.28 million were also traded.
