The city traffic police in collaboration with the city district government are going to start a grand operation against encroachers who have occupied roads and footpaths, creating hurdles for the commuters, especially in walled cities.
City Traffic Officer Lahore Tayyab Hafeez Cheema on Friday paid a visit to Shah Alam Market, Camera Market (Chamberlain Road) and some other areas. While reviewing traffic arrangements taken by the police for ensuring smooth traffic flow in the city, he expressed his displeasure and called for launching a massive crackdown against the encroachments with zero tolerance policy after the passing of Hazrat Usman Ali Hajvery's Urs.
Meanwhile, CTO Tayyab held a meeting with SP Traffic Sardar Asif and senior officials in the office of President PML-N Traders Wing, Nasir Saeed. Explaining the problems of the commuters to the CTO, Nasir told that Shah Alam Market, Nisbat Road, Mall Road and other areas are under the immense pressure of traffic due to heavy encroachments.
