KP Assembly signs MoU on training of MPAs, staff

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald, Isle of Man signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for providing parliamentary skills to the parliamentarians and parliamentary staff of provincial assembly. The MoU was signed by the Speaker KP Assembly Assad Qaiser, President of Tynwald Stephen Charles Rodan MLC and speaker of the House of Keys Juan Paul Watterson SHK at Douglas, Isle of Man.
Activities under this MoU will make it possible for 124 members of KP provincial assembly to replicate practices observed in the Isle of Man where this would bring positive change in parliamentary culture. The purpose of this MoU is to provide a joint framework for parliamentary support and capacity building of the members of KP provincial assembly, and for further developing the bond of sisterhood between the KP assembly and Tynwald, the parliament of the Isle of Man.
Parliamentary support activities under this MoU will be consistent with 2014 MoUs between the assembly secretariat of KP and the British Council, also will be coherent with and complimentary to the other work of the office of the Clerk of Tynwald promoting knowledge and understanding of Isle of Man's unique system of parliamentary government. Assembly Secretariat of KP with the support of British Council will arrange visits of the 124 members and officers of KP assembly to the legislative buildings in the Isle of Man. The MoU between KP assembly and Tynwald parliament of Isle of Man will remain in force for 1 year and may be extended beyond that by mutual consent.
