Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Muhammad Khan Sheerani Thursday said that the council would ensure bringing existing laws into conformity with the injunctions of Islam. Addressing a press conference here, he said that the council members discussed in detail the subject matters which were referred to the council for having detailed discussion including bill for women protection.
He said that the members of Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) in its meeting appreciated the verdict of Sindh High Court regarding ban on sale of wine. He said that the council has received a letter from one of its members to propose a bill for the protection of the men's right. He said that CII member Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi has requested CII to include the topic on men's protection as there were reports of incidents on matter.
He said that the council would continue making recommendations of enabling and encouraging the Muslims of Pakistan to order their lives individually and collectively in all respects in accordance with the principles and concepts of Islam. Replying to a question, he said that the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) being a constitutional body would perform its responsibilities.
