The Lahore High Court granted bail to Waheedullah, an accused in the murder of former MPA Rana Shamshad, and two others on Monday. Earlier, the counsel of the accused submitted that he was implicated in the case on personal grudge and political rivalry. He was not nominated in the FIR but he was implicated later on in a supplementary statement during the investigation. He said four accused have already been bailed out in this case.
The prosecutor on behalf of the Punjab government, however, submitted that the accused was nominated in the murder and investigators found him having an active role in the murder. After hearing the both sides at length, the court granted bail to the accused.
