Tribal students' concerned over health facilities

A group of tribal students belonging to Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency have expressed serious concerns over the poor health facilities in local healthcare centers and blamed concerned for compelling the patients to pay huge money for treatment.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, Khushal Khan Afridi of Insaf Students Federation said that the poor standard of the local tehsil level hospital could easily be judged from the fact that a supervisor of the lady health workers avoids giving medicines and ration to the mothers.
Besides, he said that Lady Health Workers were also forcing the mothers to pay huge money during delivery cases. Flanked by some other students' representatives, including Asfandiyar Shinwari, Kaptan Afridi, Imtiaz Afridi, Shahid Shinwari, Mr. Khushal said that the families of the area had time and again complained in written to KP Governor Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra, agency surgeon and officials of Fata Secretariat but they did not bother to take action in this regard. Besides, he pointed out that health workers were not paid their salaries on time and their three months salaries are still pending but Fata secretariat are not willing to ensure monthly salaries on time.
