Visit to Europe to give productive results: AJ&K Prime Minister
Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider on Sunday said that Kashmir EU-Week has become an important event on Kashmir in Europe and especially his visit to European Union (EU) would give productive outcomes in the context of Kashmir issue.
According to a press release, the prime minister was talking to media in Berlin, the capital city of Germany at end his a week long visit to Europe.
He was invited by Kashmir Council Europe for participation in Kashmir EU-Week at European Parliament. During his three-day visit to Belgium, the EU headquarters, the prime minister attended various conferences, seminars, exhibitions and gatherings in connection with Kashmir EU-Week arranged by Kashmir Council Europe.
He also met a many of European Parliamentarians, high ranking officials, diplomats and media persons. Prime Minister of AJK also attended a conference on Kashmir in Holland arranged by Kashmir Peace Council headed by Raja Zeb Khan and a gathering arranged by Kashmir Free Organization headed by Saddique Kiyani in Germany.
The Prime Minister said that he had fruitful meetings with the European parliaments, officials and other people including Kashmiri diasporas based in Europe. He added he is satisfied of his productive visit to Europe specially his visit to European Union headquarters.
"As I secured majority in the AJK's assembly in order to form the government three months ago, I had announced three objectives comprising enhancing liberation struggle, good governance and development of AJK," he said.
He said he is grateful of Kashmir Council Europe (EU) headed by Ali Raza Syed for inviting him to participation in Kashmir EU-Week in Brussels where he also met Kashmir diaspora came from many European countries. AJK's PM said, Kashmiris in abroad especially their youth can play important role in highlighting the Kashmir issue in different European circles.
He said, "We shall also try our best to arrange admission for Kashmiri students in European countries and this could also be a way of strengthening connections with Europe."
PM Raja Farooq Haider said, "We have emphasised on issue of human right of Kashmiris in our meetings with European authorities."
"We asked hat in its possible free trade agreement with India, Europe should not forget issue of human right violation by Indian forces in Indian Held Kashmir," he said.
According to him, he urged EU's officials to send fact finding mission for investigation of crimes against humanity in IHK. The EU's delegation should travel to IHK and obtain real information by talking to common people special members of civil society of the held region of Kashmir.
He further said, "Though Kashmiris are suffering for last seven decades but atrocities against them have been increased for last four months and restrictions specially consecutive curfew has disturbed the life of the common people in IHK."
"Use of pellet guns against the peaceful people became a routine matter in the recent month which resulted into injuries on faces specially eyes. A large number of the people wounded on the faces lost their eye sights," he said.
To a question AJK's PM said, "Though India is a large country and it has a huge resources but we are on correct path and truth will prevail definitely."
Talking to media, Senior Minister of AJK Chaudhry Tariq Farooq said, "The Prime Minister's visit to Europe was very important especially he had useful meetings with the European officials and parliamentarians."
He said, "We are grateful of our hosts including Chairman Kashmir Council EU Mr Ali Raza Syed who organized outstanding programs during Kashmir EU-Week at European parliament in Brussels."
He also appreciated efforts of other people specially Sardar Saddique in Belgium and Zeb Khan in Holland and Saddique Kiyani in Germany during visit of the PM's visit to these three European Countries.
