Saad seeks report on purchase of PR machinery

Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has directed the high-ups of Pakistan Railways to submit a report about purchase of latest machines on both short and long term basis within 15 days which is aimed at improving the performance of the organisation.
He issued these directives at a meeting held at the Railways Headquarters on Friday with regard to review the Ballast Cleaning Machine and Tamping Machines brought by the organisation to ensure safety of the track. The meeting reviewed repair and maintenance of these machines. The meeting discussed the issues of purchasing contemporary machines to secure track and hiring of technical staff and its training in this regard. The minister said the master trainers should be invited to train Pakistani staff from the countries from where new machines would be imported and technical staff should also be sent abroad in case of need. The meeting was also attended by Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Javed Anwer, Railway's Advisor Anjum Pervez, Member Finance Ghulam Mustafa, and Additional General Manager (Infrastructure) Humayun Rashid.
