Secretary General, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF), Rana Mohammad Sarwar has said that Pakistan International Super Kabbadi League will be organized in March next year. Talking to this agency, Rana Muhammad Sarwar, who is also General Secretary of the Asian Kabaddi Federation, disclosed that the Pakistan Super Kabaddi League will be organized for the first time in the game history wherein more than 100 players from teams like Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Quetta will be organized in Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad.
He said Pakistan Kabaddi Federation is sponsoring the event wherein every players that would part of the event will be given Rs 0.3 million as cash incentives. After the successful of the first edition, he said, teams would be named after on different financial and institutions in the private sectors. He said players from other countries of the world would also be part of the teams. He said they are working on a plan to have foreign players in the League.
Answering a question, he said, it was a shocking decision of not including Pakistan in the World Cup organized by India. "I was approached by World Kabaddi Federation to shift the event to Pakistan if it winning to host but we regretted because it needed huge amount for holding the World Cup in Pakistan," Rana Sarwar added. Rana Sarwar said that KP is full of Kabaddi talent and specially Bannu is famous for kabaddi players. He also lauded the role of Pir Barkat Shah, President KP Kabaddi Association who is dedicatedly working for the promotion of Kabaddi in the province. He said in year-2017 the National Kabaddi Championship will be organized in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and now it up to the KP Kabaddi Association to decide the venue either in Peshawar or out side Peshawar.
