World's largest national flag put on display

VEHARI: World largest national flag in connection with 71th Independence Day was put on display, at Quaid-e-Azam Stadium Burewala during ceremony "Salam Pakistan", here on Monday.

The national flag was prepared by students of private college and school, in collaboration with Municipal Committee and civil society workers. The flag is prepared with 4500 metres cloth which is comprised about 37000 square meters. It took six months to complete.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Khathia inaugurated the flag display ceremony which was also attended by DPO Ahmed Nasir Virk, Assistant Commissioner Burewala Muhammad Azeem Rabbani, Chairman Municipal Muhammad Aashique, Principal Superior College Asif Sardar and others.

Addressing the ceremony, DC Vehari Irfan Khathia stated that he was feeling immense pleasure to be the part of the ceremony.

He stated that students, civil society workers and other citizens demonstrated matchless unity to make the largest national flag of world. He paid rich tribute to the people who contributed to the preparation of the largest national flag.

He urged people to utilize their potential and plant maximum trees. He stated that tree helped to reduce pollution and reduce temperature.

DPO Ahmed Nasir Virk also urged citizens to forge unity among their ranks and work for progress and prosperity of the country.
