Sakhi Sarwar blast case: LHC Multan bench upholds death sentences of the accused
Lahore High Court Multan Bench has dismissed appeal of Behram Khan, a terrorist of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban, and upheld the decision of Anti Terrorism Court DG Khan. ATC DG Khan had awarded the accused 54 times death sentence, life imprisonment, imprisonment of 10 years 76 times and a fine of Rs 5,2 million on March 6, 2013.
According to the spokesperson of Prosecution Department, the accused Behram Khan alias Sufi Baba was arrested from Darbar Sakhi Sarwar immediately after the suicide attack on April 3, 2011. Behram was also a suicide attacker who failed to blast his jacket and was arrested in injured condition. 54 people lost their lives while 76 were injured in the blast.
The Lahore High Court's Multan Bench comprising Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad turned down the accused appeal of the accused and confirmed the full sentence of ATC DG Khan in PPC 302, 7-ATA and Explosive Substances Act Deputy Prosecutors General Malik Riaz and Abdul Wadood represented the state.
