Soon after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took a stroll down the flooded streets of Lahore on Tuesday afternoon, the party chief was quick to taunt Punjab's former chief minister for the aftermath of heavy rain.

On his way back to his residence after a walk out on the roads with his trousers soaked to his legs with water and mud, Khan said, "I have just seen Paris." The PTI chairman was out visiting the areas of Lahore that have been affected by the downpour.

Before leaving his residence to visit the areas, Khan had said he is looking forward to see what the previous government has done for the city in terms of infrastructure.

During his visit to Karachi last week, Sharif vowed to make Karachi the most beautiful city of South Asia, no less than Paris. The former Punjab chief minister said that he had lived up to his promise of turning Lahore into Paris. He invited Karachiites to come and see for themselves what Lahore had been turned into.

Lahore has come to a standstill since Monday night due to the thunderstorm. The weather worsened on Tuesday morning with intermittent rainfall. At least six people have died in different accidents. The citizens are facing shortage of electricity. Many main thoroughfares have been submerged in rain water while hallows have even formed in a few main roads.
