The general manager should pay general damages of Rs 1 billion for defaming the authority, said a press release issued here on Sunday.
The notice was served by NADRA through advocate of Supreme Court saying that the role of NADRA was very limited in the upcoming general election.
The concerned officer alleged in a television programme that NADRA had leaked the data which were proved wrong and fabricated subsequently.
Syed Muzaffar had been asked to clarify his position regarding the allegations leveled against the authority, which were subsequently proved wrong or be ready to pay the compensation.
The notice said Syed Muzaffar had already been rusticated from the service due to misuse of power and corruption by completing all legal requirement. Syed Muzafar had also shown an email on the channel which had no relation with the data leaks, the notice said.
Muzaffar Shah has been asked to prove his allegations of benefitting a particular party as a result of data leaks or pay compensation in case of failure.
The notice said NADRA had not leaked data to any political party and allegations in this regard evinced well thought out conspiracy against the prestigious organization.
