Compliance of ECP code of conduct to be ensured, DC says
SARGODHA: The district government has issued directions to the candidates contesting 2018 general election to ensure compliance of the election code of conduct, issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
All candidates should ensure compliance of the code of conduct, Deputy Commissioner Muzaffar Sial said while chairing a meeting here on Saturday. He said that candidates should also avoid displaying banners, panflexes and steamers, which were larger in size than the ones specified by the ECP.
The administration has also designated places for corner meetings and rally routes to maintain peace and avoid traffic mess. Political parties and candidates are also bound to inform the district government before staging any public gatherings or rallies in the city, he added.
District Police Officer (DPO) Zubair Dareshak also advised candidates to ensure compliance of the election rules and avoid confrontation with other candidates.
