Three young Pakistanis receive Queen's Young Leaders Awards

Three Pakistani youth were awarded with Queen's Young Leaders award on Tuesday at the Buckingham Palace.

Mahnoor Syed, Haroon Yasin and Hassan Mujtaba Zaidi were honored with the Queen's Young Leaders award. The British High Commission in Pakistan had announced on their official Twitter account that the three Pakistani youth would be receiving their awards from Queen Elizabeth .The award recognizes and celebrates inspirational young leaders aged 18-29 from across the Commonwealth.

Queen Elizabeth presented the winners with a medal for their exceptional community services in using their skills to transform lives. The ceremony was attended by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In his speech, Prince Harry told the young leaders that they are the future leaders who will need to improve the lives of all the vulnerable people in the communities. Prince Harry said they would need to pick up the baton on issues such as climate change, food security, equality and access to education,

The ceremony was also attended by soccer star David Beckham and former Prime Minister John Major.

This initiative to search for exceptional young people started in 2014. Till now the program, which has entered its final year, has formed a unique community of 240 influential change-makers from 53 Commonwealth countries.
