ANP, PPP demand ECP to take notice of PTI’ big signboards, non-transfers of senior bureaucrats in KP
PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party and Pakistan Peoples Party leaders here Monday said big sign boards of PTI candidates and non-transfers of senior bureaucrats in the province was a pre-poll rigging and demanded of Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of it.
Addressing a press conference here, PPP leader and former MPA Nighat Orakzai and ANP leader and former Town Nazim Haroon Bilour said big-size of signboards displayed by PTI candidates in Peshawar was clear violations of rules and regulations of ECP and demanded for its removal.
They complained that ECP officials have assured its removal within three days but did not do so till yet, which is indeed a matter of great concerns for candidates of other political parties. “Some of bureaucrats in KP were reshuffled but most important secretaries including the Departments of Establishment, Finance, Health and Education were still serving on the same posts appointed by PTI regime that may influence the elections results.
They said senior bureaucrats transferred to others districts by the Caretaker Government should be transferred to other provinces imperative for transparency and fairness in the upcoming general elections besides provision of level playing fields to all candidates.
“Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and Water and Sentential Service Peshawar (WSSP) officials were still executing developmental works, which is against rules of ECP,” they maintained.
The alleged that PTI workers tore their party flags and posters that infuriated their workers and whole responsibility would be on PTI if law and order situation has been worsen in the city.
