Appellate tribunal summons Imran Khan in Sita White case
PESHAWAR: The Appellate Tribunal of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Bannu bench summoned Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan in a petition filed by an opponent candidate over acceptance of his nomination papers from NA- 35 despite filing of objection over alleged relation of Imran with a US national, Sita White.
Judge Appellate Tribunal, Justice Abdul Shakoor Khan issued the notice to Imran Khan summoning him tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9:00 a.m. The opponent candidate from Justice Democratic Party, Inamullah Khan Advocate had field objection over acceptance of Imran’s nomination papers by Returning Officer for NA: 35 Bannu.
The petitioner argued that Imran has a daughter, Tyrian Khan from Sita While which he has not mentioned in his nomination papers.
Therefore, petitioner added, Imran does not fulfill the criteria under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution and his papers be rejected.
It merits a mention that the Returning Officer Bannu had accepted the nomination papers of Imran Khan by rejecting the objection of Advocate Inamullah Khan of Justice Democratic Party.
Therefore the petitioner moved Peshawar High Court Bannu bench seeking relief.
