He pleaded with the tribunal to set aside the returning officer decision and allow him to contest polls from NA-95.

A returning officer had rejected Imran Khan's nomination papers for NA-95 constituency of Mianwali over submitting incomplete affidavit.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party's candidate has also filed an appeal before the LHC election tribunal against acceptance of Imran Khan's nomination papers from NA-131.

Moreover, a rival candidate has challenged acceptance of nomination papers of PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan from NA-129 before appellate tribunal. Iftikhar Shahid, Pakistan Peoples Party's candidate from same constituency, submitted that Aleem Khan contested by-election from NA-122 in 2015 and concealed his offshore companies which were disclosed in present nomination papers.

He further submitted that National Accountability Bureau was investigating against the PTI leader. He requested the tribunal to set aside the returning officer decision.

Meanwhile, PTI candidate Dr Yasmeen Rashid has challenged the returning officer decision of accepting her rival candidate Maryam Nawaz's nomination papers from NA-125. She submitted that neither Maryam Nawaz disclosed her complete assets nor she fulfilled conditions set in Article 62 and 63 of the constitution. She pleaded with the tribunal to accept her appeal and set aside returning officer's decision.

Dr Yasmeen Rashid also challenged the acceptance of nomination papers of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Pervaiz Malik saying that they did not disclose their assets completely.

It is pertinent to mention here that four separate appellate tribunals comprising Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Faisal Zaman, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh have been constituted at the principal seat to decide appeals against the decisions of the returning officers. All the said appeals would be fixed before these tribunals.

Moreover, A Lahore High Court appellate tribunal on Friday issued notices to former minister and PTI candidate Firdous Ashiq Awan on an appeal against acceptance of her nomination papers from NA-72. A voter, Zaid latif, filed the appeal saying that the returning officer accepted nomination papers of the former minister despite the fact that she did not mention required details and concealed facts.

He pleaded with the tribunal to set aside the returning officer decision.

The tribunal comprising Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi heard the matter.
