ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday filed an appeal with the appellate tribunal challenging the rejection of his nomination papers from NA-53 constituency.

The returning officer (RO) for NA-53 had rejected the nomination papers of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Mehtab Abbasi and former PTI leader Ayesha Gulalai for attaching incomplete affidavit with the nomination papers.

Mehtab Abbasi and Ayesha Gulalai also filed appeals against the rejection of their nomination papers by RO from NA-53 today while the PTI chief had already challenged the dismissal of nomination papers.

Imran Khan has also challenged the rejection of his nomination papers from Mianwali’s NA-95 constituency in appellate tribunal.
