Rejecting the allegations of foreign funding to Minhajul Quran International (MQI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), the PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Friday made it clear that neither he nor his organisations had ever received funds from any Asian or Western country.
Addressing his followers, Qadri said that the PAT and MQI did not receive any foreign funds from any country including Canada, United States and United Kingdom. Qadri challenged that he was ready to face the law, if the allegations were proved. "Hang me if I ever received any funds in the name of politics or religion from any country of the world," Qadri said.
Qadri said that some federal ministers including Khwaja Saad Rafique had alleged that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Dr Qadri were being funded by foreign elements with the objective to weaken the government. The PAT Chief reiterated that he and his organisations never received any foreign funding. He proposed that a law should be made to hang those involved in receiving foreign funds and corruption, adding, "Why this Parliament doe's not enact a law to hang people who receive foreign funds?" Tahirul Qadri said that the sit-in would continue for a few more days and then the government would collapse.
