PESHAWAR: Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice Retd. Dost Muhammad has assured the provision and utilization of all available resources for peaceful conduct of elections in the province.

He was addressing the first meeting of the newly sworn in caretaker cabinet in the Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. “The transparent, timely and peaceful holding of elections is the prime responsibility of the caretakers”, he said while addressing the meeting.

The first meeting of caretaker cabinet focused on the new responsibilities of Chief Secretary and Police Chief.

Chief Secretary and Police Chief highlighted the professionalism of their institutions for in time holding of elections.

Caretaker Chief Minister giving guidelines to caretakers regarding their role in transparent and fair conduct of elections said that we have a challenging responsibility to rise to the occasion and generate a matching response for efficient completion of our allocated and mandated job.

He called upon the law enforcing agencies for efficient intelligence gathering and sharing, constant coordination among them and planned search operations in order to ensure the required level of law and order situation in the province before, during and after the elections.

Caretaker Chief Minister assured the expansion of cabinet soon after Eid to give proper representation to all regions of the province.

He asked police to constantly monitor infiltrating points and said that we should have a foolproof system where nobody could find space to subvert our constitutional responsibilities. He directed to expedite developmental work on Rapid Transit Bus Peshawar and also advised for complete coordination among the moon sighting committees.
