BAJAUR: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader and former Member National Assembly from Bajaur Shahabuddin Khan Monday termed the passage of FATA reforms bill a historic step of PML-N government for providing basic rights to the people of tribal areas.

He stated this while speaking to journalists after filing nomination papers for NA-40 at Khar here.

Shahabuddin said that execution of FATA reforms bill was a tough job, but the PML-N government’s strong commitment made it possible.

He said the reforms will help start a new era of development and prosperity in the region.

Shahabuddin said repealing of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) and merger of Fata with KP was their dream which came true. People would soon see the positive impact of Fata reforms in the region, he added.

Meanwhile, filing of nomination papers by the candidates continued on Monday in Bajaur.

Many candidates including senior leaders of various parties including former MNA Shahabuddin Khan, former MNA Said Akhun Zada Chattan, Former Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Engineer Shaukatullah Khan and Bajaur Youth Jirga president Said Sadiq Akbar filed their nomination papers.
