ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Dr. Musadik Malik Thursday claimed the PML-N would win general election with the support of the people.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the party had expressed reservations on appointment of caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Prof Hasan Askari.

Hasan Askari had written articles in newspapers where he had opined that there was no harm in delaying general election in the country, Musadik claimed.

He said that Balochistan Assembly had tabled a resolution to postpone the elections while Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan had also expressed the fear that elections could be delayed in the country.

Musadik Malik said all these indicators were not positive, however holding general election on time was vital for continuity of the democratic system.

Commenting on looming threats of acute water shortage in the country, he said there was need to build new dams besides working on efficient water consumption to manage the situation.

He said work on construction of Bhasha and Dasu dams had already been started, but more efforts were needed to ensure sufficient availability of the water for country usage.
