12-day-old body of Chinese engineer found at embassy in Islamabad

The body of a Chinese engineer, which is said to be 12 days old, was found from the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on Monday.

The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The deceased Chinese engineer is yet to be identified, while an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of death.

According to local media reports, PIMS spokesperson Dr Waseem Khawaja has said that the postmortem will be conducted after the hospital receives a response from Chinese embassy.

Earlier in February, a Chinese national was shot dead in broad daylight in Karachi’s Defence locality. The incident had been termed a suspected targeted attack where the victim was in his car.
