BEIJING: China Thursday expressed its appreciation for India and Pakistan for agreeing to abide by the ceasefire agreement signed in 2003 to maintain peace near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

“We have taken note of relevant reports and expressed our appreciation for the positive actions taken by India and Pakistan in the recent days,” Chinese foreign ministry’s spokesperson, Hu Chunying said during her regular press briefing held here.

“We hope that India and Pakistan will continue to properly handle relevant differences through dialogue and consultation and maintain regional peace and stability,” she commented.

The government of India and Pakistan also agreed that any problems will be resolved through hotlines and border conferences.
