"The figures were very close to our estimate in the March report, so they support the picture we had," Olsen said, adding that the latest data on growth and other indicators had broadly been in line with forecasts made in a March policy report.

Norges Bank's board has said it plans to raise rates in the autumn, with most analysts predicting that a monetary tightening will begin in September.

"We see, more or less, that the picture we had in March stands ... I'm not saying the rate path is going to be completely unchanged, but the broad picture stands," Olsen said.
